These terms govern your use of RefundTrip. By using the service you agree to them. Please read section 3 carefully, because it describes an important limitation on what RefundTrip is.
RefundTrip reads your travel confirmations, compares your flights against public flight performance records and applicable US Department of Transportation rules, and identifies refunds or compensation you may be owed. It also tracks credit card travel benefits and flags travel credits before they expire.
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account secure.
This matters, so we are stating it plainly. RefundTrip provides information about passenger rights and card benefits. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and using RefundTrip does not create an attorney-client relationship. We do not represent you before any airline, card issuer, or government agency.
Whether a refund or benefit is actually owed is determined by the airline, the card issuer's benefit administrator, or the relevant regulator, applying their own terms and the applicable rules. Our estimates are informational and are not a guarantee of any outcome.
We take accuracy seriously. Our statutory rules are drawn from published DOT regulations, and our card benefit data is entered from issuers' official Guides to Benefits with the document version recorded. Even so:
You should verify any figure that matters to you before relying on it.
Access during the waitlist and private beta is free. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you the price before charging you, and you can decline. Founder pricing offered to waitlist members will be honored on the terms stated when you signed up.
RefundTrip connects to services including Google. Your use of those services remains governed by their own terms. We may earn referral fees if you choose to use a partner to file a claim or apply for a card. Where that is the case, we will say so at the point it is relevant. Referral relationships never change which claims we surface to you.
We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice before removing something you depend on.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, RefundTrip's total liability arising out of or relating to these terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including missed claim deadlines or denied claims. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
You may stop using RefundTrip and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and will explain why unless prevented by law.
We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
